CONDUIT COUPLING

Description

Rigid conduit couplings connect sections of coated conduit. PVC sleeves on the couplings seal the conduit pipe entries to prevent attack by corrosive liquids and vapors on the threaded joints and electrical continuity is maintained across the assembled joints.

Features

  • External PVC coating of 0.040¨ nominal.
  • 0.002¨ nominal yellow urethane interior coating.
  • Yellow urethane protection on the threads.
  • PVC sleeves for sealing at both ends.
  • Commercial sizes from 1/2” to 4” in diameter.
  • Schedule 40 galvanized steel and schedule 40 copper-free aluminum, type IPS alloy 6063 T6.

400 Volts/Mil at 60 cycles.

Aging.

1000 hours (Atlas wet UV chamber).

Elongation.

200% min.

Temperature.

Polyvinyl chloride has a crystallization temperature of 5° F (-15° C).

Flammability.

PVC coating will burn if exposed to continuous flame or heat above 400°F (204°C).

Toxicity.

Prolonged exposure to temperatures greater than 200°F (93°C) or fire may cause the PVC coating to release emissions potentially hazardous to the health of those exposed to them.
