PVC Coated EXGJH and EXLK Flexible couplings

Description

Flexible couplings are used in hazardous areas in a conduit system to achieve required curvatures or to allow movement and/or vibration of equipment or unit connections. For use in wiring lines sizes from ½” to 2” it is insulated against ground and direct fire from short circuits.
EXGJH couplings combine two male threads at their ends.
EXLK couplings combine a male thread and a female union.

Features

  • EXGJH: Both fittings at the end are female type, each with a detachable galvanized steel nipple.
  • EXLK: both fittings at the end are female type, one end with a removable Galvanized steel nipple, and the other with a UNF type union.
  • To change the galvanized steel nipple for an aluminum nipple, consult your authorized REPSA® distributor.

Materials

  • Brass braided outer liner, brass interior core with insulation cover.
  • External PVC coating of 0.040¨ nominal.
  • Nipple with internal yellow urethane protection of 0.002¨ nominal.
  • With PVC sleeve in UNF fitting to ensure sealing (EXLK only).

Exterior coating features

Hardness.

80-84 (Shore A Durometer).

Dielectric strength.

400 Volts/Mil at 60 cycles.

Aging.

1000 hours (Atlas wet UV chamber).

Elongation.

200% min.

Temperature.

Polyvinyl chloride has a crystallization temperature of 5° F (-15° C).

Flammability.

PVC coating will burn if exposed to continuous flame or heat above 400°F (204°C).

Toxicity.

Prolonged exposure to temperatures greater than 200°F (93°C) or fire may cause the PVC coating to release emissions potentially hazardous to the health of those exposed to them.
